HOORAY!!!! We're walking! Yes, Dr. Rosenfeld...when she came home on Wednesday she started doing it all on her own!
You know that moment when your kids were little and you were waiting for them to take their first steps, you would watch them eagerly...camera in hand? You would hold your breath and just pray that they didn't fall? How lucky are we that we get to have this moment repeat itself throughout Bailey's life? :)
She would shoot me if I posted the video so you will just have to take my word for it...she is up on two feet! YAY! I am also impressed with how she looks when she stands on both feet...this may sound odd so allow me to explain. Prior to surgery, you could see an obvious protrusion of her hip on the left side...now, she looks to be more svelt and even on both sides.
Now, it is back to school for half days for just a bit to help her build her stamina and get back in the swing of things. She will be going to school in her wheelchair...I don't trust those lil toots not to knock her over. You would think they would be nice but apparently empathy isn't something taught in most households. Even "friends" that have spent the night, swam for endless hours, etc. are pretty mean. That's okay though...as I have told Bailey...Karma is a strict mistress!
Can't wait to see my Bay jumping in the pool and running around like a (almost) 13 yr old girl should do!
Blessings to you and yours from me and mine...!

Hey everyone!!! I just wanted to say "Hi" and say that recovery is coming along, and I think that I am almost to the finish line!!! Boy!... this has been one crazy ride!! But I am thankful that I have God and my family and my friends to help me and to keep me going till the finish line!!!

I am excited because next week is Spring Break and I am going to the zoo with my little sister and the livestock show and carnival with my family... I am excited to go shopping and eat junk food!!! But then I am nervous because next week on Wednesday I am going to the doctor and I will start taking my first steps again. :-) I am happy to walk but I am nervous about starting again because I havent walked in 3 months and its going to be hard the 1st time but I bet that I will like it. :-) I am also excited to start walking so that I can get my sassy shake back (mom says, "WHAT?!?!?") and so that I can baby-sit again and so that I can play with dogs!!! :-)
I hope that all of y'all have a good week and that y'all enjoy Spring Break next week. :-)
love y'all!!!
Love,
Miss Hip and Sassy (Bailey)
